Meet Zainab

Hey girl! I’m so glad you’re here.
And if we’re going to connect, let me take you back to where my journey with hormonal health truly began…
I’ve lived the expat life my whole life.
Born and raised in a Bhori-Indian expat community in Dubai, U.A.E., and now living in Bangkok with my husband and our cat, Biscuit.
Why does that matter?
Because growing up, I lived in a country that imported most of its fresh produce. And like so many of us, my teenage diet was heavy on dairy—a lot of it.
Full-fat milk every morning, chocolate chip cookies, biscuits, chocolates, ice cream… you name it.
On top of that? Gluten every single day—hello, wheat rotis!
And back then, no one was talking about seed oils being inflammatory, so they made it into almost every meal too. 🙄

Is it any surprise I never had a regular cycle until I turned 27? 😅

Years of consuming foods that triggered insulin resistance and lacking omega-3s left me struggling with severe hormonal acne as a teenager—and, honestly, carrying more weight than I needed to.
Fast forward—I’m thirty now. And let me tell you, tracking my cycle and actually getting a period every 32 days… feels
Empowering!
For the first time, I’m truly literate about my body. I understand why my energy shifts, why cravings hit, and why my appetite changes throughout the month.
Most importantly, I know exactly what to do about it.
Living in Bangkok now, I’m exposed to even more processed foods and plastic packaging—but here’s the thing…

I choose better every day.

Which means yes, we budget more for groceries and compromise elsewhere—but it’s so worth it.
If I had a health coach at 13, it would’ve changed the trajectory of my life. But instead, it took me a few years to get my health back on track.
Along the way, I discovered Whole Foods, changed the way I ate, tossed out toxic cleaning and personal care products, picked up yoga, and explored different healing techniques.

Stick around a little longer—and I promise, I’ll get you there too.

How I Got Here ⏤ My Journey

  • Phase 1: Menarche — The beginning

Ahh, the onset of menstruation—and my four personalities every month: Sweet, Salty, Spicy, & Sassy.

Imagine sitting down to write a math or science exam without any preparation. Terrifying, right? That’s exactly how my first period felt. It came out of nowhere, bringing pain I’d never experienced before.

By the time I got home—my parents were away on pilgrimage—I woke up the next morning having completely stained my brother’s bed.

Embarrassed, shocked, and in pain, I felt utterly alone.

With my mom away, the comfort and guidance I desperately needed weren’t there. My grandmother and aunts tried their best, but nothing replaced the reassurance I longed for. I didn’t even know how to wear a sanitary napkin.

From that moment, I had to pick myself up and navigate this journey alone. That first experience left its mark—setting the stage for years of irregular cycles that followed… and quite literally shaped my path.

  • Phase 2: The Diagnosis — And the dreaded pilll

From ages 13 to 19, every gynecologist visit ended the same—telling my mom and me that irregular cycles and cystic teenage acne were just part of puberty and would regulate as I approached my twenties.

Well, I did hit my twenties… the acne faded, but the irregular cycles didn’t.

Fast forward to 2022—after 14 long years, I finally received a diagnosis. The acne returned at 27, and those same irregular cycles confirmed it: PCOS.

    Honestly? I was relieved.

Finally—a name, a direction, something to work with.

The gynecologist on call immediately recommended hormonal birth control… which terrified me more than the diagnosis itself. I had never heard a woman rave about her experience on the pill. So, it was a firm no from me.

I mustered the courage to advocate for myself—and I’m so glad I did. That decision led me straight to my…

  • Phase 3: First Realization — What did I need to equip myself?

Around this time, I was building my career as an Ashtanga yoga teacher. Years of dedicated practice helped regulate my cycle somewhat… but there were still times my period disappeared for nearly three months. That was the peak of my PCOS.

Eventually, I realized—this world I was immersed in?

    It wasn’t built for women.

Women were practicing just like men—6AM practice clubs, caffeine-fueled sessions, obsession with weight, body image, and pushing harder, faster, more.

Luckily, my teacher Nea’s approach was different—cycle-centered, thoughtful, and intuitive.

Through her, I found an ex-Ashtanga teacher who had become a women’s health coach—and suddenly, a whole new world opened up.

  • Phase 4: Second Realization — How can I help women? Period

How could I help women navigating these hormonal imbalances?

Because, honestly, it feels like almost all of us are affected in some way.

I understood burnout way too well. I’d skimmed the edge of it more than once across my careers—but thankfully, I recognized when to pull back.

Not everyone around me was that lucky.

Watching female friends and colleagues crash and burn broke my heart.

After successfully reversing my PCOS and experiencing three consecutive regular cycles, I knew what I had to do.

In 2023, I enrolled in the only women’s health coaching and functional nutrition institute recognized by the NBCHWC. $11,000 and a certification later…

    I realized something huge:

The real struggle of the modern woman is this—

She wants to do everything a man does, but with a woman’s body… and still show up at her best for her family, kids, relationships, career, and friends.

    But the truth?

She can’t do it all—not without damaging her health.

In my quest to find a better way—not just for myself but for every menstruating woman—I found the answer.

And now I’m here… ready to help you find it too.
